Dorothy passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Winston Park LTC surrounded by her daughters. Predeceased by her husband Victor (1994). Left to grieve are her daughters, Melanie, Julie (Acacio), grandchildren Jennifer, Stephanie (Jordan) and Jeffrey (Sarah).
Born in Birmingham, England, Dorothy emigrated to Canada in 1967 with her husband and children. Dorothy had a marvelous singing voice and a wonderful sense of humour. To say Dorothy lit up a room is an understatement. Over the years Dorothy had been a member of Galt Little Theatre, Sweet Adelines and Cambridge Senior Choir just to name a few. Dorothy yearned of knowledge, was a music lover and an avid traveller.
Special Thank You to the PSWs and nurses at Winston Park LTC, especially Rosalyn and Lindsey for their compassion and taking care of us and our Mom. Also thanks to Strasburg Neighbourhood for their kindness and compassion.
Visitation will take place at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 11 a.m. until time of the service in the chapel at 12 noon. Interment following at New Hope Cemetery, Cambridge.
As Dorothy had a passion for all animals, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be through donations to the Guelph Donkey Sanctuary, Cambridge Humane Society or a charity of your choice involving animals.
