It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Gemma, lovingly surrounded by her family at Juravinski Hospital on Friday September 29, 2023 at the age of 88 years. Loving wife of the late Felice Russo. Will be deeply missed by her children Angela Bartolomeo (Renzo), Mike Russo (Sarah), Felicia Albanese (Marc). Her pride and joy, her grandchildren and great grandchildren Carmelina (Rick), Gemma, Chris (Natalie), Alecia (Jay), Felice (Alessia) Jessica (Adam), Paolo, Giulia and Sabrina. Dear sister of the late Fiore Grieco and the late Querino Grieco (Antonietta) of Venezuela. Matilda Sabatino (late Domenico), late Dora Coviello (late Giovanni), late Ida Romano (late Antonio) and Mafalda LaPenta (late Antonio).
Dear sister-in-law to the late Tony Russo (Malta), Concetta Memmolo, (late Domenico) of Italy and the late Marietta Dell’Erario (late Emilio) of Italy. Gemma will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews both here and in Italy and Venezuela.
Special thanks to the wonderful Dr’s and nurses at Juravinski Hospital and to the PSW’s who took good care of our mom both at her home and hospital. Special thanks also to the amazing staff at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas during our mom’s short stay.

Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Tuesday October 3rd from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, on Wednesday October 4th at 10 am. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington.
