Richard Peter Reid passed away peacefully with family at his side at the Brockville
General Hospital, on Thursday November 30, 2023. Peter was 87 years old. He is the
loving father of Paul (Stephanie), Karen Millross (David) and David (Shauna). He will be
greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren, Nicholas (Lauren), Katherine, Gregory, Sarah,
Christopher, Andrew, Cale, Levi, Benjamin and Mila as well his great grandson Caden.
Peter is fondly remembered by his brother in law, Douglas Montgomery. He is survived by
several nieces and nephews and is predeceased by his wife Barbara Montgomery,
their son James (Jimmy) Reid as well as his parents Edna (Hartnett) and Richard
Reid.
Peter was a proud member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed
retelling stories of his adventures from throughout the years with his many friends.
As a child, he was involved in Scouting and received the King Scout award. He
worked most of his life for McRae Wholesale and ran Floral Memories Flower shop
in Barrhaven for over 10 years.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and
Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be held at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Wednesday,
December 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.. Interment at St Francis Xavier Cemetery will be followed
by a reception at Irvine Reception Centre. Donations to The Heart and Stroke
Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
