Surrounded with family by his side; Jack Harold Paul entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in his 93rd year. Son of the late Harold and Gertrude Paul. Beloved husband of the former Dorothy Greer and dear father of John Paul (Lynda), Jim (Roseline Follini) and Brian (Corey). He will be sadly missed by eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Predeceased by a grandson John Raymond.
Jack was raised on the family farm located west of Brockville on the #2 Hwy. He completed his early education at the Rock School – a one room school house in Elizabethtown, Ontario and later attended Brockville Collegiate Institute in Brockville, Ontario. Following his high school graduation, Jack joined the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve. He dedicated his service aboard the air craft carrier H.M.C.S. Magnificent and the Minesweeper H.M.C.S Wallaceburg. Later Jack embarked on a career beginning at Canada Foundry and Forging, and later moving on to work at Phillip’s cable company. In 1951, he found a new path with the LCBO team, where he remained dedicated for 35 years, ultimately retiring in 1990 as the manager of the King Street, Brockville LCBO.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday, November 9th from 2-4 pm. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held in the Chapel on Friday, November 10th at 11am. Interment will be held at Oakland Cemetery. Officers and members of Lyn Masonic Lodge #416 will gather for a memorial service on Thursday, November 9th at 1:30 pm.
In memoriums to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or the Brockville General Hospital- Integrated Stroke Unit will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
