Obituary of Caroline Osborne
A resident of Kent Bridge, Caroline Osborne passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the age of 82.
Born in Windsor, daughter of the late Nathan & Neva (nee Makey) Smith.
Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Ken Osborne (Dec, 2021).
Dear mother to Jeremy Osborne and the late Jennifer Strack (2016). Proud grandmother to Ryli, Paetyn, Noah, Stephen and Emma.
Sister of Dick and Norma Smith, Diana Skidmore, Linda Tuach, Helen Walker, and Albert and Jan Smith.
Predeceased by her brothers, Ralph Makey, Jim Smith and brother-in-law, Gary Skidmore, Don Tuach and Ron Walker.
Survived by sister-in-law, Jean Pinch, & Pat Smith.
Sister-in-law of Marg & Jack Eberle, Kathi Deschene & Jan Osborne (the late Al Osborne).
Missed by many nieces and nephews.
Caroline retired as a school teacher for many years within Chatham and surrounding areas. She was a dedicated member of Thamesville United Church and the UCW. Caroline volunteered within her community, and was always available to help. She enjoyed spending time with the Antique Car Club and riding around with Ken in his ’57 Corvette. Caroline will be missed by her family, friends and neighbours.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Chatham-Kent Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion during Caroline’s time there.
Family to receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
In memory of Caroline, donations may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
