CAREY: Peter John With heavy hearts and a sense of humble relief, we announce the passing of Peter Carey (January 7, 1959) on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at the Mariposa House Hospice in Severn. Peter passed peacefully and pain-free, following a 14-month battle with colon cancer. We extend our deepest gratitude to the compassionate caregivers who supported Peter throughout his illness. Special thanks go to Seniors & Community Health Worker Jennifer; Durham Community Paramedics Tina and Chris; PSW Fe; Nurses Amy and Lorraine; Nurse Practitioner Kianda; and many others who assisted him both within and beyond our community. Their dedication allowed Peter to remain at home as long as possible, and we encourage continued support for these essential services. A private funeral has been held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter’s name may be made to Brock Community Health Centre – Seniors Programming. Online condolences are welcome at www.manganfuneralhome.com
