“Georgie” passed away at Barrie RVH on Monday 23 September 2024 in her 92nd year. Georgie was born on the Rix family farm in Crown Hill in 1933, the middle child of James and Christena Rix. She has gone to join her siblings who she loved so dearly, Donald, Margaret, Shirley, Allen and Carol and her late husband Robert John Lackie. Georgie was the loving mother of Sandra (Brian Daniels), Murray (Sandra Hollidge) and Nora (John Hamilton) She had 6 cherished Grandchildren: Georgie and Jack Hamilton, Kirsten and Nathaniel Lackie and Samantha and Natalie Daniels, and an adored Great-Grandson, Elias Sporton (son of Natalie and Chris Sporton). Georgie also leaves behind her dear friend Ed Harper. Originally a Registered Nurse, Georgie had many careers but loved textile art the most and left a legacy of beautiful treasures and wonderful memories for everyone who shared her life. We will miss her dearly.
Memorial to be held at 11:00am 9th November 2024 at Jennett Memorial Centre 152 Bradford Street, Barrie, Ontario.
