Obituary of Bruce Colbert
December 29, 1951 – February 6, 2024

Bruce Ernest Colbert, free-spirited and nature-loving, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the age of 72, at the Ottawa Queensway Carleton Hospital. Beloved husband of Bettina Baum and father of Joshua Colbert (Alexis) of Franklin, TN, Ami Messina (Eric) of Berkely, CA, Lukas Baum (Sheena) and Sebastian Baum, both of Burnstown, ON. Grandfather of Max Colbert. Dear brother of Tim Colbert (Heather), Marla Tolan, Andrea Colbert, Nancy Donnelly (Shawn), and Bill Colbert (Karen). Beloved son of Doreen Colbert (Frappier). Predeceased by his father, Ernest Colbert. (2020). Missed by many nieces and nephews. As a master craftsman he was known for his carpentry skills. Despite his reserved nature, Bruce had a magnetic personality that attracted others to him. He didn’t need many words to leave a lasting impression. Bruce had an adventurous spirit that thrived on his love for paddling. He found solace in nature and embraced the tranquility it offered. Bruce’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Interment at Flat Rapids Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place at Neat Café, 1715 Calabogie Road, Burnstown on Wednesday May 1st, 2024 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. In memory of Bruce a donation may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation or to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital.
Bruce had a love for stories. He could inspire others to share their own tales.
