Harriet Ann Gallant (Madore)

Harriet passed away in Belleville Hospital, Belleville Ontario, with family by her side on June 28, 2024. Born in Stephenville Crossing, NL, she was a daughter of the late Alcide and Mary (Tobin) Madore.
Mother spent most of her life as a housewife, bringing up us 6 kids. Later, she was a housekeeper for 17 years at Saint Ambrose Church rectory in Yarmouth. She was a devoted Catholic, sang in the church choir and belonged to various prayer groups.
She also lived in Moncton, NB, Ear Falls, ON, St. Georges, NL, Wabush, Labrador and wherever work took our dad. Her most favorite pastime was going to Cape Forchu and Port Maitland Beach.
Harriet is survived by her 6 children, Charlotte, Laverna, Martina, Georgine, Michael and Calvin; 3 siblings, Audrey, Jean and Alcide; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Deacon Michael J. Gallant (1988); 4 siblings; 1 grandson; 2 great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place in Ontario and funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. By request there will be no visitation or reception. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral Catholic Church, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. A burial will be held following the funeral mass where she will be laid to rest next to our dad, after 36 years. Donations in Harriet’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery Fund or a mass at Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral Church.
