Frances’ Obituary
SURETTE, Frances Mae – Age 94 of Dayton (formerly of Melbourne) passed away on October 4, 2023 in Villa St. Joseph du Lac, Dayton. Born on October 10, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and LeVina (Thibeau) Muise.
Frances was a stay-at-home mom who loved to play bingo and play Whist at the Community Hall. Although living with dementia, she kept busy with her word find books, coloring book, playing solitaire and jigsaw puzzles. The family would like to thank the Yarmouth-Argyle Home Support Services, family and friends that helped to keep her in her home until she went to the Villa. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Villa for the love and care they gave Frances.
Frances is survived by her sons, Raymond (Betty) Muise, Melbourne and David (Edgar), Gibsons, B.C.; daughters, Joan Surette, Melbourne; Irene McCormick, Halifax; Ruth (Larry) Fitzgerald, Comeau’s Hill; Rita (Vernon) Clairmont, Arcadia; sister, Catherine Moore, King’s County; grandchildren, Mark (Tish) Muise, Terry (Lisa) Muise, Randy (Stephanie) Muise, Mary (Paul) Bottomley, Anna McCormick, Patrick McCormick, Jeff Fitzgerald, Travis (Jodie) Fitzgerald, Trevor (Annick) Fitzgerald, Michael (Jess) Clairmont, Jason (Ashlee) Clairmont; 11 greatgrandchildren; 5 great-greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Surette (2017); siblings, Alice Fitzgerald and Paul Thibeau; and son-in-law, Shaun McCormick.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Melbourne. A visitation will be held in Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. A burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
