Donald Gary Baker

Age 82 of Yarmouth, passed away at home on December 24, 2023. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Donald and Betty (Robicheau) Baker.
Donald retired as a janitor from the Tri-County School Board. He loved music and loved to dance. He worked for many years at the Dominion Textiles (Cotton Mill) in Yarmouth. He was a loving husband and grandfather. Donald was fussy about how his grass was mowed. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2181. He also hated to lose at cards
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Anna Baker; sons, Gary (Gisele) Baker, Summerville; Shawn Baker, Markham, Ontario; Darrell Baker, Carleton; sister, Diane Baker, Yarmouth; brother, Brian (Paula) Baker, Clinton, BC; grandchildren, Eric, Matthew, Corbin and Regan. He was predeceased by his brothers, Clarke, Bruce and Bobby.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 in Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral Catholic Church, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. A burial will be held in Salmon River following a reception in the Jubilee Room at the church. Family flowers only please. Donations in Donald’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
