Douglas Crosby: March 12,1956-July 22,2024
An obituary wrote by Doug on February 5, 2024:
“I just felt like writing my own obituary before my final day might happen.”
A true South-Ender in Yarmouth, our family grew up in the old yellow house that still stands on the corner of Forbes and Argyle Street. I have 4 siblings, Charles, Louise, Grace, and my favorite sister, Olive. I was a fisherman and learned a lot about fishing from my dad but as fishing died out back in the 70’s I moved on and spent 4 years on Irving Tugboats before heading to Ontario. Being the smart hard worker I was, I got a job in the printing and bookbinding stuff, getting my apprenticeship as a guillotine operator. Ronald’s Printing was my first job, and we did Time Magazines and Canadian Living Magazines for all of Canada. I then got involved with printing and doing book binding of CD music stuff. I was one of the best with accuracy, no time for mistakes! Once the company folded and my wife passed away from cancer I retired back home to Yarmouth. No kids, end of my story…. But I still like fishing and …. Being a Wharf Rat Pirate!
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service at this time.
