Margaret’s Obituary
**Margaret Rose Atkinson (née Murphy)**
Margaret Rose Atkinson, born on May 26, 1935, in Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Anna and Loran Murphy. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Felton Atkinson; her son, Joseph Atkinson; and her brothers, Thomas and Billy Murphy.
She is survived by her son, Claude Atkinson, and his wife, Tiffany; her granddaughters, Julie, Autumn, and Katie Atkinson; her daughter-in-law, Karen; her grandsons, Cory and Tim; and her great-granddaughters, Natalie, Lexi and Jordyn. Margaret also leaves behind her sisters, Marilyn Wallace, Claire Murphy, and Stella Anthony; and her brothers, Roland, Edward, Milton, and George Murphy, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses on the 4th floor, especially nurse Nadine, for their kindness throughout her short stay at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital and the staff at Yarmouth Heights for their exceptional care and compassion during Margaret’s time at the senior home.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral Church, Albert Street, Yarmouth on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. A burial will be held after the service at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Wedgeport, followed by a celebration of life at the Wedgeport Legion. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
Margaret will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
