Penney, Aubrey Ernest – 71, born in Stoney Island on March 3rd 1953 passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on February 9th 2024. He was the son of the late Freeman Penney and Annie (Brannen) Penney. Aubrey is survived by his children, Tanya (Penney) Adam’s (Michael Adam’s) Pubnico , Stacy Penney (Matthew Stuart) Woods Harbour ; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Irene Penney (South Side ) Larry Penney (Leeann) South Side , Anna Penney (Roland Hoben) Alberta, Marius Penney (Carl d’Entremont ) Wedgeport. Besides his parents, Aubrey was predeceased by his brothers Jacob in infancy and Michael. Aubrey was a fisherman all of his life starting with his father at a young age and then taking over the rig after his father retired. His brothers Larry and Michael fished with him on the Tusket Islands lobster fishing and ground fishing from South Side. When he retired Aubrey kept pretty much to himself he liked visiting family who he loved very much and enjoyed driving around Cape Island looking and watching deer. He will be sadly missed by his family. Upon request there will no formal service and cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. In memory of Aubrey donations may be made to the Huskilson’s Funeral Home Barrington NS.
