Hannah, Albert Douglas – Age 79, of Lower Selma passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2024.
Born in Scotland, he was a son of the late Douglas Mudoch and Margaret (Brown) Hannah.
Albert was an accomplished stone mason and brick layer. He worked on the Province House Historical Restoration Project and built numerous monuments, brick and stone walls and chimneys, leaving a glowing legacy to his trade.
He was a volunteer firefighter and chief for many years. He was instrumental to bringing the jaws of life and reliable ambulance service to Maitland and District Fire Department. He held an auction for many years for Nova Scotia Firefighters Burn Treatment Society and contributed significant funds to the cause.
Albert is survived by his wife, Marina; sons, Douglas (Margaret), James, Albert (Geri), Jason; siblings, Noel, David, Mae, Jean and Glenda; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings, Douglas, Robert, Ian, Jennifer; daughter, Joyce; and grandsons, Brian and John.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Colchester East Hants Health Foundation – Palliative Care.
