Ronald
Frank “Ron” Mitchell
– 86, Truro. It is with
deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ronald Frank
“Ron”
Mitchell, who passed
away peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Colchester East
Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Ron was a thoughtful, kind and caring man and a
loving and devoted husband and
father. His
love for the
outdoors took him and his family on numerous camping adventures across
this country and the United States. He was
an avid
deer hunter, who felt the
time spent hunting
with his
family and friends was as good or
better than tagging the big
buck.
His adventurous spirit has been passed down to
his children and grandchildren and many will remember him for his
various pranks, humorous nature and love of a good card
game.
Ron enjoyed playing the guitar and would
sometimes accompany his wife when she played her piano. He was always
attentive to the love of his
life. They
spent their retirement years
with family and
friends and travelling
to distant places across North America and
Europe.
As a young
man Ron worked
as a guard at the Rockhead Prison in Halifax. He spent many
years working
for the city of Halifax
in various
roles while
raising his family in Lower
Sackville. Later they
purchased a small business that took
them to Dean Settlement for a number of
years before moving to
Truro
He is survived by his children, Steven (Lynn)
Mitchell, Ottawa; Vernon (Michele) Mitchell, Stewiacke; Vincent
(Andrea) Mitchell, Lantz; Pamela (Shane) Sullivan, Bible Hill;
grandchildren,
Andrew (Courtney) Sutherland,
Gregory Sullivan, Jessica (Matthew) McLeod, Christopher (Emily)
Mitchell, Stephen MacDonald, Brennan
(Tenysha) Sullivan,
Garrett (Sherry) Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Devin (Victoria)
Mitchell, Dakota Mitchell, Jessica Bedford; great grandchildren,
Makalya Sullivan, Dominic MacDonald, Madison Sullivan, Jade MacDonald,
Jaxon Mitchell, Morgan Mitchell, Elanore
McLeod; sister,
