June Elaine Richardson
– 80, Tatamagouche. It is with great sadness we announce the passing
of June Elaine Richardson. June was called by the Lord in the early
morning of December 14, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born
in 1944 in Kemptown to Charles and Alice (Johnson) Frizzell. In her
early years Mom was an avid hunter, loved fishing and spending many
nights at the beach in Portapique where she would fish the tide out
and all the way back in again. Mom loved the outdoors working on her
flowers, “puttering around” or making “rivers” in
the driveway so that the water would run off. She loved having company
and there were many cards dealt at the kitchen table of her and
Sam’s Kemptown home. Family was important to her and she
cherished each and every day she spent with Sam, her children,
grandchildren, siblings and extended family.
June is survived by
her husband and best friend of 49 years, Sam Richardson; daughter,
Donna (Stephen) Carter, Victoria, Australia, Todd Harrison (Cindy
Moore), Manganese Mines, Kevin (Michelle) Harrison, East Mountain,
Tracy Rundle-Woolcock, The Falls; son-in-law, Dexter Rundle-Woolcock;
grandchildren, Jessica, Devin, Danny, Mekayla, Madison, Mitchell and
Amber; several great grandchildren; brothers, Happy and Brian
(Gloria), sisters, Marie (Fred) and Sharon; along with many nieces and
nephews who she loved dearly.
Besides her parents,
June was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Harry and Anne
Richardson, brothers, Bobby, Vernon, Eldon, Glen, Geordie; sisters,
Doris, Rose and Edith.
June will be missed
immensely and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Lillian
Memorial Hospital when Mom was there and most recently, Willow Lodge
Home for Special Care. The staff was so good to Mom, putting up with
her “sassy” side. Thank you.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home. 55 Young Street, Truro
where visitation will be held 4-6 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024
and funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, December 19, 2024,
Reverend Larry Tirrell officiating. (Webcasting of the service will be
available at 10:55 am). A reception will follow and interment will be
at a later date. If so desired, donations in June’s memory
to Willow Lodge or any charity of choice are welcomed. Tributes, words
