Evelyn Frances
(Garraty) Pickering passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28,
2024 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Evelyn was born
to George and Florence (Wisby) Garraty in Southhall, Middle,
England. She was loving wife to Keith Pickerin; mother to Keith
Pickering Jr. (Peggy McGraw), Julie Creelman (James Creelman), and
Mark Pickering (Maria Pascal); grandmother to Brent Deneau, Shellee
Rushton, Stephen Pickering, Brian Pickering, Shawn Pickering, Sydney
Pickering, Daniel Pickering, Jacob Pickering, Christopher
Trenholm and Jeremy Trenholm; great grandmother to Tara Deneau,
Cassandra Deneau, Aiden Rushton, Lucas Pickering and Amelia
Pickering.


Evelyn was an employee
of Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital in Cape Brenton, for 14
years, from which she retired from in 1994. She loved all animals and
always had pets. Evelyn enjoyed reading and
gardening.
Honouring Evelyn’s
wishes there will not be a memorial service. If so desired, donations
in Evelyn’s memory to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society
or Colchester SPCA are welcomed.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street,
