Obituary for
Diana Perley (Rankin)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Diana Nora Perley, who left us on November 16, 2024, at the age of 82years. She was born on June 8, 1942, in New Glasgow to the late Keith John Rankin and Lorraine June MacNutt.
Hilden was home for the most part of Diana’s life and there she raised her family and made lifelong friends in the community. Mom loved to be in her beautiful garden and watch the various birds coming and going throughout the seasons. The outings to secret outdoor places with Dad to pick mayflowers and wild cranberries was also a highlight for her in years gone by. She moved to Wallace Living in Truro in 2022, it was a difficult move from their home in Hilden, but she quickly made new friends with all the residents and wonderful staff.
In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Perley in 2020.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Dally (Bruce) and Bruce Perley (Karen); grandchildren, Nicholas Perley, Janine Perley, Kyle Dally and Megan Leech (Jordan); one great grandchild, Ila Perley; siblings, Keith Rankin (Mary), Debra Fraser (Peter) and sister-in-law, Gertrude Wilson.
Mom will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Donations may be made to the Hilden Fire Brigade and Hilden Cemetery.
A Graveside service will take place on Friday, November 22nd at 2:00pm in Hilden Cemetery. Reception to follow in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS.
