Obituary
Douglas Wayne Tattrie – 76, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Balmoral on August 29th, 2024. Doug was born October 11th, 1947 in French River to the late Fred and Dorothy Tattrie.
He is survived by his wife Kathy; daughter, Melissa (Chris); grandchildren Noah and Bella; brothers, Donnie (Wendy), Cecil; sister, Beverly and sister-in-law Velma as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Allan in March 2024 as well as sisters, Emilie and Melita.
Doug worked at many different jobs through his life but mainly worked in the woods from a young age until his retirement in 2023. He was always up for a chat about how things were when he was younger, whether it was discussing old cars, saw mills or his younger “rowdy days.” He was proud of his Tattrie family heritage, his family no matter how closely related meant the world to him. In his later years, Doug enjoyed spending time with the apples of his eye his grandchildren, Noah and Bella. He was truly proud of everything they did. On Saturdays, you could find Doug at the local yard sales. The last few years he was a staple at the local coffee shop and you could find him there chatting with friends and family at any time of the day.
Doug will forever be remembered for his stories of old times and visits to those around the community, as the loving husband, the best dad a daughter could ask for and a proud grandfather.
A Graveside Service and Interment for Doug will be held October 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the Falls Cemetery, Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Family flowers only.
