Obituary of Sylvia Joan Hatch
HATCH , Sylvia J. “Tibby” – age 74 of Selma, passed away suddenly at home on November 8th, 2023. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Gerald F. and Annie R. (Barton) Rennie.
Sylvia loved spending time with her family and attending any special event get togethers with them. She enjoyed her retirement from Cox Brothers by spending time going to bingo and dime auctions, working on her diamond art and jigsaw puzzles, tending to her flowers, plants, and hummingbirds. She had a love for baking and always eager to try new recipes and was famous for her coconut cream pie.  
Sylvia was a dedicated and loving wife to Edward A. for 60 years; loving mother to Edward B, Sherri L. (Warren Benoit), Vicki A. (Jason Pye); loving sister to Cindy (John Roy); sister in law to Cynthia Richards; loving grandmother (Nan) to Megan, Gregory, Dylan, Josh, Tristan and great grandson Ethan, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Richards, and grandson Brandyn.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will take place from 1 – 3 PM on Saturday, November 18th, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Family flowers only. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Donations in Sylvia’s memory can be made to the Maitland Volunteer Fire Department.
