Mabel “Maeve” Kennedy, daughter of the late Alfred & Florence (Horne) Garden, passed away on February 18th at the age of 102. She is survived by two sons – Joe (Helen) Kennedy, Halifax and Mike (Edie) Kennedy, Broad Cove, Lunenburg County, with whom she lived; two daughters – Pam (Roy) Reid, London, ON and Margo McDonald, Grand Lake; eight grandchildren – J.P. (Kim) Kennedy, Skowhegan, Maine, Megan (Jordan) Buntain, Burlington, Vermont, Mike (Vanessa) Reid, Medicine Hat, AB, Erin (Kevin) Higgins, Arva, ON, Jill (Rob) Daley, Ridgetown, ON, Heather MacDonald, Grand Lake, Mark Kennedy, Broad Cove, Courtney Kennedy, Halifax; thirteen great grandchildren – Bhreagh & Gemma Kennedy, Will Buntain, Keegan, Grady, Ethan & Ciara Reid, Reid & Rowan Higgins, Ryan Daley, Andy, Julia & Chase MacDonald.
She is also survived by a sister, Helen Fleming & a sister-in-law, Anna Garden and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Joe and an infant son, at birth, three brothers – Bud, Al & Jack Garden, three sisters – Elsie Osbourne, Noreen Osborne & Beverly O’Grady & her dear friend, Lorraine Herrett.
Cremation has taken place & a memorial service and celebration of life will be held at St. Bernard’s Church, Enfield, NS at 11:00am on Saturday, March 9th, Father Gerald David officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or VON, Lunenburg.
