Obituary
FERRETTI, Linda Dianne – 77, of Middle Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Roseway Hospital, Shelburne, N.S., after a lengthy illness with her husband Dave and son Todd by her bedside. Born in Shelburne on July 21, 1946, she was the eldest daughter of the late Norman and Sylvia Bower of Lower Ohio. After high school, she attended Shaw’s business college in Toronto and subsequently was employed in clerical office positions during her working life. In 1965, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, who was a member of the Canadian armed forces. She accompanied her husband on postings in Canada, Germany, and the USA. During this time, Linda developed a keen interest in the visual arts and took up painting. She often made it a point to go to the local market on Saturday mornings to buy fresh flowers to paint. Upon her husband’s retirement in 1995, they returned to the Shelburne area and settled in Middle Ohio. She quickly became known for her art work and took it upon herself to establish a venue where local artisans could display their work. She also expanded her mediums to include fibre are and silk dying and operated an online rug hooking business (LinArt designs) for a number of years. Linda was fun loving and always enjoyed her friends and family. She was quick to flash a smile and willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Linda also enjoyed nature and gardening. For a number of years, she and her husband spent the winter months in Florida until declining heath made that no longer possible. Linda will sadly be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Dave, son Todd (Anneke), Elmira Ontario, sister Donna (Eric) Lower Ohio. She was predeceased by sons David Jr. and Kevin, and brother Paul. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
