Judy passed away peacefully and has gone to be with our Lord on Thursday June 13, 2024 at the Harbour View Lodge, Sheet Harbour, NS, in her 86th year.
Judy was born September 19, 1938 and raised in Halifax, NS. She worked hard all her life as a secretary and in retail. She made friends wherever she went. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St Theresa’s Church and her voice could be heard above the choir as she sang out at Sunday Mass. She worked and volunteered at St Vincents Guest House, often taking seniors out for a drive or lunch. Most recently she lived in Little Harbour, where she made many friends as well. She was very fond of her grandchildren, wished they were nearby to visit with and take for ice cream, yet spoiled them as best as she could despite that.
She is survived by and will be sadly missed by. her brothers Walter and Paul, and her sister Donna (Andy); her daughter Charlene, and her sons Terence (Renate) and Gerald; grandchildren: Christopher, Nathan, and Patrick Richey, Josephine Jameson; Courtney and William Pheby, nieces and nephews; and great grandchildren.
Judy Pheby (nee Brooks) was predeceased by her partner Kenneth Turple, her parents, her sister Marilyn (Kirk Stephen), her sister-in-law Rhea (Walter) and her daughters-in-law Mary Lou Pheby (Terry) and Marlah Hoganson (Gerry).
We are so grateful for the wonderful care from all the doctors and nurses during her final days, especially the staff at Harbourview Lodge, who work day and night taking exceptional care of the residents. They truly do Gods work.
Visitation will be held Thursday June 20 from 12:30 until the time of the funeral, which will be held at 1:30 in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. Father Vincent officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
She is now at peace, home with the Lord, joining in song with the Angels.
