Chisholm, John Martin – Valley Mills, Inverness Co. On the evening of Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, Martin peacefully passed away at home at the age of 82 years. Martin was the son of Michael and Ena Mae (Mac Isaac) Chisholm of Melford, Inverness County.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; daughters, Barbara (Mike), Ottawa; Veronica, Calgary; special brother-in-law and Habs fan, Ralph Mac Donald, Montreal; sisters, Marie (Brian) Watkinson, Ottawa; Sadie (late Donnie Kennedy) Antigonish; Margaret (Lyle) Wilson, Montreal; Anne Fougere, Melford; brother, Michael (Roberta) Moncton. Also, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Isabel, Mary, Cecelia, and Irene and brother, Archie.
Martin retired from the NSP Generating Plant in 2001. After living in Port Hawkesbury for 37 years he and Irene moved to their cottage in Valley Mills in 2004, where he enjoyed the last 19 years, boating, four wheeling, snowmobiling, and fishing.
As per Martin’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family internment will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Online condolences may be made forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
