It is with heartfelt sadness that we the family of Francis Bennett, 68 years old, announce his death on September 29, 2023 in St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, NS with his partner Gail by his side. Francis was the youngest son of Elmer and Beatrice Bennett of East Havre Boucher.
He was raised in East Havre Boucher and worked in Ontario, Alberta, and Yukon on various jobs. Francis was a jokester with a mischievous smile who enjoyed teasing, especially his nieces and grandnieces. Always willing to help out his friends and enjoyed working in the yard.
He is survived by partner Gail Wood, Port Hastings; daughter, Candice (Kyle) MacIntosh, Ottawa, ON; son, Marshall, Vancouver, BC; Mother of his Children, Vanessa Metcalf (MacDonnell), Cornwall, ON; grandchildren, Livanna, Hunter, and Easton MacIntosh, Ottawa; sisters, Evelyn (Sandy) MacEachern, Monastery; Rose Marie (Bernie) DeCoste, Mattie Settlement; and Patricia (Neil) MacPherson, Whitehorse, Yukon; Brothers: Billy (Dolly), East Havre Boucher; Gary, Linwood; Jeffrey (Norma), West Arm Tracadie; Robert, Cloverville; Richard (Rosiland), East Havre Boucher; Ronald (Jane) Linwood; Brian (Jane), East Havre Boucher; Predeceased by parents, Elmer and Beatrice Bennett and brother, Gerard.
Sincere thanks to Dr. Hendrix and all the staff at St. Martha’s Hospital and the paramedics who looked after Francis.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11am from St. Paul’s Parish, Havre Boucher; Rev. Allan MacPhie officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
