Obituary
Thompson, Sheila Patricia – 86, Leicester, passed away December 21st, 2023 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, with her family by her side. Born in Carrington, she was a daughter of the late Laurie and Maude (Killawee) Casey. Sheila was a long-time member of the Little River Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and in a quartet with three of her sisters; she was an active member of the lady’s circle. Sheila loved time with her family and adored her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. Sheila enjoyed having company and spirited conversations with her many life-long friends and neighbors; she had a sharp wit and a grand sense of humour. Sheila loved and cared for many animals, including her dogs, cats and horses. In her lifetime, Sheila enjoyed traveling, and especially her trips to visit with family and friends on Vancouver Island but her home of 62 years in Leicester is where she loved to be most. Sheila is survived by sons, Greg (Janice) and Randy; daughter, Kelly MacDonald; grandchildren, Lindsey (Ryan) and Danielle (John); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Elizabeth, Levi and Abigail; daughter-in-law, Cathy MacDonald; sisters, Marie and Jean; sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Betty. She was predeceased by her husband, Darrell; brothers, Elwyn, Arthur, Earl, Carl, Don, Jack and Claude; sisters, Dorothy, Mildred, Margaret, Grace, and Marilyn, in infancy. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium. Funeral service will be held at a later date at Little River Baptist Church. Donations may be made to the Little River Baptist Church or L.A. Animal Shelter.
