Betty’s Obituary
Dupuis, Betty Verna of Tantallon passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Born in Grand Pre, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Verna (Westcott) Palmeter.
She had a short career as a teacher in Cumberland County before marrying Peter Dupuis. In 1971, they moved to Windsor to open their first UAP/NAPA store. Together they opened several successful NAPA stores in Middleton, New Minas, Berwick, Kentville, and Digby.
She was an avid gardener; always proud to show her flowers, especially her roses. When she lived in Nictaux, she was a member of IODE, St John’s United Church, UCW, and Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Betty is survived by her children Bruce (Jo-Ellen) Dupuis, Pam (Jerry) Kwakernaak; grandchildren Geoffrey and Kevin Dupuis, Ashley and Keri (Kenneth Matheson) Kwakernaak; great grandchildren Oliver and Harper Martens; Evelyn and Theodore Matheson; sister Lorna Davis. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, especially Tricia (Dave) Ingram. She was predeceased by five brothers and a sister, Ron, Audrey, Everett, Bruce, Elmer, and Merrill.
A special thanks to Laurel and the staff of Laurel Lake Residents for their care over the past few months.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
