Eaton; Eugene Charles,68, of Pleasantfield NS passed away peacefully by himself (the way he wanted) on February 6th, 2024 at Queens General Hospital.
Born in Liverpool, Gene was the son of Charles Eaton of Milton and the late Inez (Wamboldt) Eaton.
He was an avid collector of antiques and enjoyed talking about them to anyone. He had the biggest heart and even though he didn’t have much, he would give anyone the shirt off his back. He will be remembered for his kind and giving heart and the beer in the fridge for anyone who came to visit.
He called the Old Garden Road his home where he and Wanda lived comfortably with nature. They made many friends… who became family and will miss him dearly.
Gene leaves behind loving father Charlie Eaton, daughters Michelle (Carl) of Calgary AB, Misty (Mitch) of Halifax. Two sisters Cathy (Jim) Wall, Peggy (Don) Tweddle, granddaughter Charlie Cress, step grandchildren Makenna Burgess (Reggie Sceeles) and Jayden Burgess (Holly Cross), nieces and nephews, Patrica (Wayne) Jordan , Stephen (Jennifer) Wall, Jessica (Matt) Ready, Brandon Tweddle (Sarah Niepage) . Chosen daughter Crystal Schenkels (Jonathan) and chosen grandson Cameron.
Besides his mother Inez, Gene was predeceased by the love of his life Wanda Horton.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. There will be no funeral service as per his request. A celebration of life will be at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Queens General Hospital Liverpool. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors who took great care of him during is time at Queens General.
