Obituary of Eldridge Ellison Bolivar
“It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later” as he always said.
It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Edridge Ellison Bolivar, 83, youngest son of Edgar and Beulah Bolivar of Branch Lahave, on November 29th, 2023. He got his wish; passing away peacefully at home, in his sleep in a room full of love surrounded by his five favorite women. We listened to Elvis, we told stories and enjoyed one last turkey dinner all together.
If you were lucky enough to know EB, whether it was through working at Michelin over his 28-year career, doing car runs all over the province, going buggying back in the day, or just being a family friend, you knew he was one of a kind. He was one of the kindest, funniest, most loyal, stubborn, hard-working men to ever exist.
He was survived by the love of his life Joan, whom he fell for instantly when they met back in September 1965 – so much so that he proposed three months later in December and got married the following June in 1966. 18 months into marriage, they found out they were expecting their first daughter and another 2 years later; and this was the start to the family Eldridge was so proud to call his own. Lynne, born September 1968 and Shelley born September 1970 have been raised to have so many of his skills, qualities, and attributes. Both Lynne and Shelley had their own kids and blessed Eldridge with grandchildren and eventually later, great grandchildren.
Jaymee, his first-born grandchild was born in November 1995, and this is when he accepted his most favorite role of all; being gramps. Not long after Jaymee was born, his second grandchild Brian, (Brittany, Ryder, Marley, Dana, Robyn) came shortly after in June of 1996; Jacklyn, (Layla, Cecilia, Elsie-Mae) in October of 1997 and Riley in April 1998. With family come trials and tribulations but our Gramps always had THE BIGGEST smile – and that is how he would want to be remembered; if not for that but for the love his fur babies Kenzie, Ford, Henry, and Oakley, his love of Elvis Presley, Ford vehicles and visiting the camp. The last thing he would want you to remember, is… there is in fact a right way to wash a vehicle.
A celebration of life will be held at Branch Lahave Community Hall on Sunday December 10th, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where on-line condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com. Donations in Eldridge’s memory may be made to SHAID Tree animal Shelter.
forever loved, forever missed and forever in our hearts
