Obituary of Carroll Walter Maughan
Maughan, Carroll Walter – age 44, died February 20, 2024, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater surrounded by family. Born in Bridgewater on April 28, 1979, to Gordon Maughan and Leverne (Snyder), Carroll was the youngest of 5 boys.
He quickly learned the ropes of fast cars, playing in the dirt and occasionally getting into mischief. He was most in his element when wearing hockey skates and being on the ice. Carroll worked as an electrician and received his red seal, always taking pride in his work. Carroll enjoyed “buggying” with friends and family and spent six days doing so during a trip to Newfoundland.
Carroll’s cancer diagnosis in July 2023 and the events to follow involved a lot of challenges but his spirit was so strong, and so was his support. Carroll’s dog Sylo was his best bud and by his side every step of the way. Carroll’s kind smile and gentle nature will surely be missed.
Carroll is survived by his mother Leverne Maughan; brothers, Steven (Karen), Cory, Matthew (Gena) and their daughter Amy. He was predeceased by his father Gordon Maughan and brother Glen.
Invitational family service to follow. In lieu of flowers, to help honor his final wishes, memorial donations may be made to the family through Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater where online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
