We are heartbroken to announce the tragic passing of Blake Hudson Travis, 27, of Timberlea, on October 12th.
A much loved husband, son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend, Blake is survived by the love of his life Meghan Travis, parents Heather and Brian Travis, brother Mitchell (Marie-Eve) Travis, special aunt Shelley Hudson, mother and father in law Darlene and Clark Scott, sister in law Shannon (Drew) Scott, brother in law Cooper Scott, grandmother Dorothy Travis, and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and new nephew Nolan Travis, born on October 15th, 2024.
Blake was so excited about becoming an uncle but was over the moon with excitement to be starting a family, with the birth of his and Meghan’s son, Sullivan, expected in February. Their feline furbaby Tina is missing him and their nightly supper routine already.
Blake was predeceased by uncle Garth Hudson, grandparents John and Connie Hudson, and Rod Travis.
Blake was lucky to love his work and all of his fantastic coworkers at FAM Construction. When not working, Blake enjoyed playing dungeons and dragons and fishing with his buddies. Blake was a special person in that he was able to blend friends from different parts of his life seamlessly into one big group. Be they childhood friend, sports friend, coworkers, he could always bring people together. This was really noted at Blake and Meghan’s wedding one year ago.
Blake would go out of his way to help any of his family and friends. Now, his family and friends will be leaning on each other for strength, and to give support to Meghan. We will miss his huge heart and great smile.
Celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19th in the Ronald A Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road Upper Tantallon. Interment will be held in Country Harbour, his happy place, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up a trust for Blake and Meghan’s son Sullivan to support him and his future academic endeavours. More information as to how to donate to Sullivan’s trust will be available at a later date.
