It is with great sadness and broken hearts that our family announces the passing of Marjorie Anne Digout (nee Henderson), age 81, of River Bourgeois, Nova Scotia. Marjorie passed away on August 3, 2024, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish.
Marjorie was born on May 30, 1943, in Ashmont, Alberta to Edward and Grace (Hawke) Henderson.
Marjorie was the second of three children. She is survived by her older brother Harold and was pre-deceased by her younger brother Donald and both of her loving parents.
On July 1, 1961, Marjorie married her true love and soul mate, Stanislaus Digout. They have had 63 wonderful years together, and raised a family of six children; Allan (Carolynn), Greg (Christine), Mike (Dawne), Gerry (Amanda), Jackie (Jim), and David (Tamara); all of whom have survived her.
Marjorie was an incredibly loving, kind, and gentle wife and mother, and her family feels blessed to have been loved by her all these many years.
Marjorie loved and treasured each of her grandchildren Luc (Kelsey), Renée, Drew, Jake, Matthew, Zachary, Caleigh, Dakota, Sierra, Emily, Jesse (Gail), Jennifer (Matthew), Jordan, and Amara. also her great-grandchildren Maxime, Rémy, Rustin, and Briar.
Besides her parents, Marjorie was pre-deceased by her brother Donald, and great-grandson Rustin.
Visitation will be held in the River Bourgeois Community Resting Parlour in River Bourgeois on Thursday, August 8th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Marjorie will be held at St. John The Baptist Church in River Bourgeois, on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11 am. with Rev. John Yake officiating.
Burial to follow in St. John The Baptist Parish Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Tara Lynn Community Centre in River Bourgeois.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Diabetes Society Canada or the River Bourgeois Community Services Society.
