Stephen Levenshulme Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Roy Levenshulme on January 8, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Saint John on November 10, 1952, to Eileen (Morrisey) and the late Roy Levenshulme and was the loving husband of Joanne (Murphy) Levenshulme.
Steve was a carpenter by trade, working at Coleson Cove in Modular Construction, also working at the Pulp Mill and the Box Mill. He loved to hunt and go shooting at the range, he loved travelling, and he was a biker enthusiast who absolutely loved to ride his Harley. Stevie’s greatest love was for his wife, Joanne, and his children, Tasha, Trevor, Shawn, and his grand and great grandchildren. His love for family was everything. He loved deeply and he made sure you knew it, and he was loved deeply by all who knew him. He had the strength of a Viking and the heart of a gentle giant. The Great Protector, always putting others first and no one hurt someone he loved. He had a presence when he entered a room; formidable for those who didn’t know him; a bear of a man…. for those that knew him, his family and friends, he was the most selfless and loving man God put on this Earth.
Along with his mother, Eileen and his wife, Joanne, he is survived by his children Tasha (Marshall) Karn, Trevor Kaye and Shawn (Melissa) Thorne; grandchildren, London, Madison, Sawyer and Eldorra; 4 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Colleen Matheson, Terry (Barbara), Margaret McCumber, Carol (Bob) Buchanan, Kenny, Kim Hurley, and Sherry (Stephen) Flewelling; sister-in-law, Debbie; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother, David Levenshulme and brother-in-law, Brian McCumber.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 23 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) where visitation will take place on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Rose de Lima Church of the Holy Spirit Parish (541 Milford Road) on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 10am. In lieu of flowers, his family request donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetic Society or to the SPCA- Animal Rescue League.
