Pitre, Mea Florence (LeCours)
It is with appreciation of a life well-lived and gratitude for many years of memories, that we announce the passing of Mea Florence (LeCours) Pitre, loving wife of the late Fernand “Pete” Pitre, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, December 1st, 2023. She was a daughter of the late Leo and Edmee (Thibodeau) LeCours.
A devoted Catholic, Mea was a dedicated member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
She enjoyed watching every type of sport and was a huge Montreal Canadiens fan. Mea especially loved reading the daily newspaper and creating many memories for her family and friends at her cottage in Quebec. Mea also enjoyed camping during the summer months at Pine Cone and was thrilled when she won a game of “Beer” Bingo.
Mea enjoyed travelling to Florida during the winter months and was an avid card player who enjoyed playing Forty-Fives and spending time with her Friday Night Card group, an evening where so many laughs would be shared. Mea also attended card parties at several Catholic churches around the community.
Mea is survived by her sister Nancy Martin along with her nieces and nephews; Donna Martin, Karen (Martin) Dobson, Roger (Sally) Drapeau and Mike Boudreau. She is also remembered by her great niece Katelyn along with her great nephew Kyle and great-great nieces Khloe, Juliet and Klaira.
Mea will also be missed by her special friend Brian Forester and cousin Mary Bremner.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mea was predeceased by her brother George.

Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506)-646-2424. A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 at 1:30pm.
