Obituary of Jonathan Wayne Kingley Moore
Jonathan Wayne Kingley Moore was born March 9th, 1976, at the old Saint John General Hospital that stood in the uptown area. He lived several places within the city as he moved about with his family. Starting in the North End on Hawthorne Avenue, he also lived at Sus Drive, Ocean Westway, Century 21, Boyaner Crescent and finally back to the West Side, eventually ending on Maple Row where he resided until his untimely death on January 3rd, 2024. There are so many happy memories from each of those addresses, as I’m sure those closest to him could attest.
Jonathan graduated from Simonds High School in 1995 and worked various jobs in the food service industry. Ponderosa, Greco, Swiss Chalet and Costco were among his previous employers, and he is fondly remembered for his hard work and pleasant personality while employed there. Jonathan enjoyed long walks, bowling, movies, building models, spending time with close friends and of course, a hot coffee from Tim Hortons.
Jonathan was unfortunately plagued with poor health throughout the majority of his adult life. He came to be under the care of the excellent, caring staff of Maple Row after a lengthy recovery from the Snowshoe Hare Virus.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Kinley Moore and Alice Shirley Moore (nee Dickison) and his sister Sherry Ann Lyons ( nee Briggs).
He is survived by sister Kimberley Dawn Hopper (nee Briggs) of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia; stepsisters, Margaret J. A. Murray (Dan) and Cynthia M. Mott (Richard), stepbrother, Robert F. Moore (Darlene), all of New Brunswick, and one brother-in-law, Brian J. Lyons of Mississauga, Ontario, as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to the awesome staff at Maple Row, the Saint John Regional Hospital and the Emergency Response Team for their care and dedication in all they you have for Jonathan.
Lastly, thank you to the wonderful staff of Brenan’s Funeral Home for all their kind assistance. You are all deeply appreciated.
A Casual Memorial Gathering will be held in Jonathan’s memory at Brenan’s Funeral Home (506-634-7424), 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, on Saturday, January 13th, 2024, from 3 to 5 pm. Friends and family are welcome. Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in Jonathan’s honor to Diabetes Canada, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.BrenansFH.com.
Taken too soon, you will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace sweet Johnny.
