The family of Glendon “Glen” David Melvin are saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 26, 1953, Glen was a son of the late Ernest and Laura (nee Clark) Melvin. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Marsha Melvin (nee Amirault); his daughters: Christine Slavin and Tina Melvin (Mike Hachey); daughter by choice Tanya Gallant (Randy); son by choice Matthew Kirkpatrick, all of Saint John; brother Stephen Melvin of New Brunswick; sisters: Kimberly St. Croix (Jim) of Saint John and Brenda Duquette of Alberta; grandchildren: Paulina, Alyssa, Richard, Brett, Sheldon, Madison, MacKenzie, Brennan and Kash; great-grandchildren: Clyde, Liam, Konway, Millie Rae, Mila Rose, Amelia and Reese; as well as by many extended family members and good friends. As well as by his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert Melvin. Glen will always be fondly remembered as a genuinely happy, friendly man who loved to talk to everyone, a real people person. He had a great sense of humour. Glen loved to fish, and bowl and laughingly referred to himself as a hooker, he hooked some amazing rugs over the years. We will all miss him so much. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Visitation will be held on Monday October 2, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 3, 2023 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family, or Glen had requested for people to paint a rock to add to Willie the Snake at the Rez, let’s see how long we can make it.
