Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brian James Gould on October 22, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on January 27, 1954, to the late Allan and Alice (Markey) Gould and was the loving fiancé to Margaret-Ann Reid.
Brian worked as a Journeyman at Saint John Shipbuilding for several years. He loved boats and built a number of model boats over the years, so his career suited him well. Brian was a gentleman through and through. He was quiet and kind hearted and would do anything to help anyone. He liked to keep his circle of friends and family close. Brian was one of the most even keeled people you’d ever meet and didn’t let anything ever ruffle him or set him off. He was a huge Toronto fan, both the Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays and had constant faith that they were going to win this year. He was a fantastic cook and looked after Margaret very well. He was a romantic and truly found the love of his life in his final years. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his fiancé, Margaret-Ann, he is survived by his son, Wesley; his daughters, Kathleen and Tracey; his brother, Paul Gould; his sister, Nicole Lepine; along with his 3 special nephews; Tony, Marc and Patric, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, sister; Paula Gould and brother; Gerald Lagacy.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In keeping with Brian’s wishes, no services will be held. There will be a celebration of life on November 4 from 2-4 pm at the home of Margaret-Ann Reid, 384 Watson St, Saint John for those who would like to share a memory or condolence in person. For those who wish, memorial donations in Brian’s memory to Carlton Kirk Church would be appreciated.
