Brenda Durant Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of Brenda Durant announce her passing on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Beloved wife of Bruce Durant of 35 years.
Brenda’s loss will be deeply felt by her Children: Sabrina Hanson and Adele Hanson (Edward); her Step-children: Timothy Durant, Janet Durant, Melissa Durant (Grant), and Crystal Durant (Chris); her Grandchildren: Elizabeth,Taurean, Tiernin, Gage, Dominique, Madison, Alexis, Caleb, Chloe, Darci, Bryston, Dakota, Hope, Kali, Kingston, Gwen, and Olivia; her Great-grandchildren:d Isaiah, Kinsley, and Weston; her Goddaughters: Amy, Kelsey, and Dominique; along with several nieces, nephews, and her Siblings: Dana(Carol-Ann), Joseph, Mark, Linda (Hughie), Kim, Tawnie, and Wanda.
Brenda is predeceased by her beloved Grandmother/Guardian: Anne Ellis; her Parents: Ethel and Murray Bartlett and her parents-in-law Joy and Austin Durant.
She will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends along with her chosen family. She brought light and happiness to all who encountered her. She was always there to lend a helping hand when needed and was always made herself available to her children when a crisis arrived no matter the circumstances. She carried herself with a grace and humility that was to be envied and was there to support but not judge while lending a shoulder to cry on or give advice. She was an amazing matriarch to her family.
She loved her family more than anything and was never too busy to play with her Grandkids or her fur babies. She loved to read and knit when time allowed and she loved to hunt. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). In keeping with Brenda’s wishes cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date. Donations to the Breast Cancer Society of New Brunswick or the IWK would be greatly appreciated.
