Beverley Hunter Obituary
It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of our Mom, Beverley Helen Hunter (née Gale, later Labatt), born Feb 28, 1938 in Hamilton, ON. She left us naturally and quietly in the early hours of Nov 25, 2023 in Saint John, NB.
Bev was funny, well read, an opera buff, current affairs specialist and most of all, amazingly brave and positive. After a stroke at age 42, she rallied back and became a beacon of optimism for everyone she touched. Her ability to engage with people was incredible. She could get inside a person’s thoughts and help them realize how wonderful they are. She would say: “sometimes I say too much but I always get invited back”.
Well Mom, I wish I could talk with you one more time. You’ll never leave our memories.
Earlier in 2023 Bev lost both her wonderful husband, Jim Hunter and brother Roger Gale. She is survived by her sons Robert Labatt (San Francisco) and Anthony (Tony) Labatt (Toronto).
Bev will be interred beside Jim in Saint John, NB after the thaw in May or June 2024. A celebration of her life will be held in Ontario in May or June 2024. Details TBD. Please email beverley@kawaba.net for details.
