Only child of Albert and Thelma Gamble, born in the County of
Es, England in 1955. Predeceased by her father Albert Gamble in
1972.
Melanie moved around England 17 times until coming to Canada
in 2008, where she lived happily until her passing. Mother
to David Hart, her beloved son and equally loved daughter-in-law
Sharon; step grandmother to their son, Tom Wilson.
Melanie had many loves, animals being uppermost and
nature/gardening a close second.
In 1991 she contracted M.E, an auto immune disease which is
incurable. Melanie battled against this debilitating disease for over
30 years. She was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2018 just
before her husband, Ron was diagnosed with Stage Four cancer. He
passed September 19 2018.
After losing Ron, Melanie continued to live her best life,
despite many hard knocks. She delighted in living in New Brunswick,
her many Canadian and European friends and the absolute beauty nature
surrounded her with.
In 2008 Melanie and Ron came over to Canada directly from
England. It was their dream to open a B&B
They opened “The English Experience B&B”,
(2009 – 2017), with many returning guests. It was a time of hard work,
many laughs and some truly memorable people from across the
world.
They both have said their time here has been the best time of
their lives. For which they were most grateful.
Her caregiver, Marty McGlashing, whose help was arranged by
Ron before his death was beyond measure. Melanie had no doubt that she
would not have lived as full a life as she was able to
without his help.
Melanie had an infectious laugh Her English accent, sometimes
left her Canadian friends, with a puzzled look as they tried to figure
out what she really meant. The English sayings also had us stumped
many times.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of
Jones Funeral Homes, Sackville and Port
Elgin, NB (506-364-1300). Honouring Melanie’s wishes
cremation has taken place and there are to be no services at this
time.
No flowers please. A donation to the Lillian Albon Shelter in
Amherst would be truly appreciated as ti was a place that Melanie
championed for many years.
