It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of M. Alan Patterson, age 52, of
Dorchester. Alan passed away at the Moncton Hospital on
Thursday, August 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving
family.
Born in Charlottetown, he was a son of
Austin Patterson of Ontario and Joan (Paul) Cant, of Sackville,
NB.
Alan’s been a truck driver since his
graduation. He has trucked across Canada and the United
States, trucking for Giant Tiger the last 5 years. He loved
his Great Danes, and his black labs. He always looked forward to
taking dogs out for a walk, either his own, or volunteering at the
Moncton SPCA or the LA Animal Shelter.
In addition to his parents, Alan will be
dearly missed by his beloved wife Lorilee, Dorchester; step son Evan
Whidden, Hinton, AB; step grandchildren Leah Whidden, Truro and
Lincoln Whidden, Hinton, AB; step sister Rebekah Cant, Sackville;
siblings Larry Patterson, Amherst, Angie (Dave) Corbin, Quispamsis,
NB; Sue Patterson, Toronto; many sister in laws, extended family and
friends.
Funeral arrangements are under the care
and guidance of the Jones Funeral
Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville
(506-364-1300). In keeping with Alan’s wishes, cremation has
taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at his home at a
later date.
