Ada Marguerite Fudge
(nee Oldford), passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 11,
2024, in Riverview, NB. Born on October 15, 1930, in Glace Bay, NS,
she was the daughter of the late William and Gertie Oldford. A devoted
and noble mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ada’s
life was a celebration of her love of family and
friends.
Ada’s hands
were never idle, she was an avid seamstress who found joy in sewing,
knitting, and crocheting intricate doilies. She delighted in
travelling, skating and dancing to all her favourite jazz greats, and
a good book was always at hand. She was passionate about cooking,
particularly during family gatherings where her kitchen was always
filled with warmth and the delicious aromas of her cooking. Her
enthusiasm for life extended to her love of flowers and gardening. Ada
loved the beach, summers at Parlee Beach, Rissers, Queensland and
Glady’s beach are memories that we all will cherish. Ada
took great interest in the royal family, and was a big fan of curling
and baseball, rarely missing a Blue Jays
game.
Ada was predeceased by
her late husband, George Alexander Fudge. Ada and Dad took great pride
in their life of service, moving the family across provinces and three
years in Hemer, Germany. She is survived by her cherished children:
Gertrude Jennifer Collette of Riverview, NB; Brian Alexander Fudge
(Sue) of Calgary, AB; Janet Grace Daniels of Bridgewater, NS; Dawn
Lynne Falzone (Michael) of Niagara NY; and Kenneth Bruce
Fudge of Oakhill, NS., her dearly loved grandchildren: Jesse Collette,
Elias Collette, Shanna Fudge, Adam Fudge, Natalie Zinck, Murray Zinck,
Peter Fudge, Ryan Garnhum, Kien Fudge, step-grandchildren Wesley
Daniels and Shannon Leigh Ruscitto. as well as her adored great
grandchildren: Enya Leger, Xavier Dalton, Julia Dalton, Nova Fudge,
Levi Garnhum, Luke Garnhum, and Frederick Rafuse Zinck.
Along with her
parents, Ada was predeceased by her siblings Etta Matheson, Beulah
Cavers, Muriel Duffet, Eileen MacPherson, Claudine Almon, Leslie
Oldford, Albert Oldford, Joseph Oldford, Norman Oldford, and Edna
MacPherson.
The family wishes to
extend our heartfelt appreciation to Donna Thompson for her years of
care and companionship to Mom, she fondly cherished their friendship.
Also, to all the amazing staff at The Grass Home for their constant
loving care.
Memories of
Ada’s long life and legacy of love and devotion will
continue to bless our family. Ada’s faith in God, expressed
by consistent prayers for loved ones, helped her to be a guiding light
and a source of inspiration to all of us.
