Ryan Trueman Stairs
1956-2023
Ryan Trueman Stairs passed away peacefully at home in Temperance Vale,
NB on October 2, 2023. Ryan was born on Stairs Hill, NB in 1956, a
son of the late Hollie and Katherine (Grant) Stairs.
Dad moved back home to New Brunswick father’s day weekend of 2018. In
June of 2020 he began building the home he had always wanted for
himself. He said he had never felt more comfortable and at peace as he
was right here in his home he built in the Vale.
Dad was a simple man. He loved birch trees and Cardinals, watching the
traffic pass by as he talked and drank coffee with his sisters.
Through the day he always kept himself busy puttering at task around
the property, and on slow days, many games of crib. He enjoyed fishing
and hunting and anything outdoors. But most of all he loved to take
his Chevy Tracker for a bumble on the mill roads and look for birds.
More often then not these tours ended with him sharing a cold one, and
some laughs, with his friends.
As kids some of our fondest memories were made with dad at the camp.
It was there that dad taught us to shoot, picked fiddle heads with us,
and let us drive for the first time. We will hold those memories close
to us forever.
He is survived by three daughters, Lori Palmer (Kevin), Hainesville,
NB, Danielle Stairs, Nova Scotia and Katlyn Rose (Shawn), Mitchell,
Ontario; a son, Shawn Stairs, (Melissa), Durham Bridge, NB; his
granddaughters, Shaye, Morgan, Maddison, Graylen, Gabby and Peyton;
his sisters, Linda Christie (Ed), Joan Bradley (Junior) both of
Temperance Vale, NB, Connie Billings (Adrian), Burtts Corner and Gayla
Killam (Lee), Sus, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ryan was predeceased by a sister Maritta
Knowles, two brothers, Lloyd and Winston, a grandson Gavin Palmer and
a brother-in-law, Brian Knowles.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. There
will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Ryan, the family
has suggested the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
Rest easy dad, you’re home.
