Calvin James Charters (June 12, 1956 – August 15, 2024)
Calvin J. Charters of Waasis, NB passed away suddenly on August 15,
2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 68. He was a
hardworking man and followed his passion of trucking and machinery all
of his life. Calvin was born in Harvey Station, NB on June 12, 1956
to the late James and Joan (Lawson) Charters.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly (Townes) Charters; his daughter,
Ashley Doe (Rod), Ontario and his son David Charters, Waasis, NB. He
was an amazing Papa and will be greatly missed by ‘Papa’s
boys’ Lucas and Liam Doe of Ontario, they were the light of his
life. Calvin is also survived by one sister, Karen Thompson (Rick),
Harvey Station, NB; a special nephew, Dale Charters, who Calvin loved
as his own; his mother-in-law Freda Townes; sisters-in-law Kelly
Charters, Paulette LeBlanc (Danny), Rosina LeBlanc (Tim) and Lynn
Trail; a brother-in-law, Kevin Townes; several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was predeceased by his brother
Robert Charters; a sister Avis Bigger (late Merle) and his
father-in-law Fred Townes.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3,
Harvey Station, NB on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 12 noon until the
hour of service at 2 pm. Pallbearers will be David Charters, Dale
Charters, Rod Doe, Rob McIntyre, Mark Kilbride and Carl
MacLellan.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke
Foundation.

The Trucker’s Last Ride
He travelled the roads
In years gone past.
A life he chose and
Hoped it would last.
Driving all night
From province to province,
Trying to get home
And arriving so late.
He parked his truck now,
His engine has stopped
And those who love him
