Sister Mary-Margaret (Ellen Murphy), ndsc, passed away
following a long illness on Wednesday March 20, 2024 at the
Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur
in Moncton. She was 100 years and 11 months old and in the
74th year of her religious life. Born in
Melrose, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Joseph and Margaret
Ann (Moore) Murphy.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by one sister,
Mary Margaret Nooney (late Thomas) of Dartmouth, NS; as well as
several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters:
Agnes Rita and Kathleen Colford; and three brothers: Joseph William,
Leo David, and infant Raymond.
Sister Mary-Margaret will be resting at the
Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère
des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street,
Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Sunday March 24 from 6:30 pm to
8:30 pm, with Solemn Vespers at 7 pm. Visitations will start again on
Monday from 9 am until the funeral mass. The funeral mass will be
celebrated on Monday March 25 in the Maison-mère chapel at
2 pm. The funeral mass will be streamed live and may be
viewed on her obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com where
condolences may also be sent. Interment will be in
Memramcook. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of
Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton
(506-858-1900).
