Nita Gillis Obituary
Nita J. Gillis, 93, of McNair Manor, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Jean (nee Gordon) Gillis.
Nita retired after many years as an RN. She worked at the Amherst Hospital and then for many years at the former Sunset Adult Residential Facility in Pugwash. She was a member of the Nova Scotia Registered Nurses Association and a member of the Canadian Registered Nurses Association. She enjoyed knitting and gardening and was a lover of cats.
She will be sadly missed by her sister, Gerry Traves (late Wes); nieces, Linda LeBlanc (Lenny) and Shelly LeBlanc (Denis); as well as many other nieces and nephews along with extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Elaine Touchie and Audrey Ibbitson; brother, John Gillis; niece, Marilyn Coleman; and nephews, Raymond Sinclair and Jimmy Sinclair.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Interment will follow immediately after at Wilmot Cemetery, Lower Coverdale.
