It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Joseph “Billy” LeBlanc, age 77, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Gérard and Emilie LeBlanc.
After 55 years of marriage, he is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; daughter, Lynn (Terry) of Moncton; son, Kevin (Olia) of Shediac River; grandchildren: Mireille (Jérémie) and Janie (Marc) of Shediac; great-grandchild: Louis; sisters: Linda Fougère (late Louis), Germaine LeBlanc (Wayne), Gloria LeBlanc Dean (Bruce), all of Shediac River; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Diane (Bill); his parents-in-law, Edna and Willie Fougère; and his sister-in-law, Carol-Ann (Joe).
He worked at CN for 30 years until its closure. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus (Council 7535).
Billy was a sociable person and was always surrounded by good friends. He loved sports, especially golf, baseball, hockey and bowling. He also loved to travel and go on cruises, and he planned these adventures in great detail. But what he loved most was spending time with his family.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Emergency Department and 3F Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Cormier, Dr. Albert, Dr. Poitras and Dr. Comeau for all the care they provided during his short stay at DGLDUHC.
Visitation will be held at Le Passage (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge) on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at the chapel at 3:00 p.m.
