Vincent Peter Paul, of Metepenagiag-Red Bank, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born in Miramichi, he was the son of the late Lemmy and Mary (Cloud) Peter Paul. He worked various jobs over the years, and retired as a Social Development Officer with Metepenagiag First Nation. He was a respected Elder of the Metepenagiag Community, a Professional Guide, and a member of St Thomas Roman Catholic Church.
He will be greatly missed by his son Stephen Paul (Florence) of Metepenagiag-Red Bank; sister Alice Johnson of Fredericton; three grandchildren Mark, Tyson, and Mallory; eight great grandchildren Terrance, Brady, Alex, Aiden, Jace, Leah, Jaxon, and Raina; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Frances (Ward) Peter Paul; two brothers Benedict and Isaac; and his sister Hilda.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Thomas Roman Catholic Church, in Metepenagiag (Red Bank) on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 11 am with Father Dan Melanson officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
