It’s with profound sadness and broken hearts the family of Scott Albert Northrup announce his passing at hospice house after a short courageous battle with cancer. Scott was born in Saint John, NB to Leroy and Winnifred (Lamb) Northrup on September 10,1954. He was the third son of 5 children.
Scott grew up in Marysville where he met his wife Debbie and most of his life long best friends. He loved fishing and hunting and spending summer and fall at his camp in the Dungarvon. Scott worked for 29 years at DECH as security where he had many friendships.
Mourning his loss is his wife of 47 years Debbie (Jamieson); his children and their spouses, Brian & Jillian (Lines) and Krista and Alex Ryan. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Devon, Kennedy, Kaleb (Lines), Brayden and Shealynn Waterhouse, Chantelle (Kyle Foster) & Adriana Ryan; brothers, Ron (Marilyn) and Don Northrup; sisters, Sharon Allen and Cathy (Randy) Hitchcock; brother-in-laws, David (Pat) Jamieson, Michael (Jocelyn) Jamieson. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply.
Scott is predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Winnifred (Lamb); mother and father-in-law, Edgar and Pauline (McCurdy) Jamieson; sister-in-laws, Judy Northrup and Denise Jamieson; brother-in-law, Dennis Allen; special nephews, Carey and Timmy Northrup.
The family would like to thank the palliative care team and doctors, especially Dr. Jen Gillis-Doyle, as well as the staff of the Hospice House where he was treated like a king in his last days.
As requested by Scott there will be no visitation or funeral. Family and friends are welcome to join Scott’s family in a small celebration of life on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 2-6 pm at 236 Rolling Hill Drive, Richibucto Road. Donations can be made to the Hospice House in Fredericton or to the donors choice.
